Ground Force comes to Bracken Ridge

What better way to spend a long weekend than putting in a retaining wall? Mum & Dad figured that it would be a good opportunity to fix up my “crap garden”, and this was the latest idea that they had. And though I was somewhat (read “very”) discouraged thinking about the cost and the physical labour that would be involved, my tune was quickly changed after the wall started taking shape. And it’s only 1 layer high, so it’s not actually that difficult.

Anyway, we started off with the front yard -

Then we moved into the back yard -

But unfortunately we only got about 1/2 way around before it got dark.

So if there’s anyone out there who loves building retaining walls, or is really into gardening, or is just plain crazy, drop me a line and you’re more than welcome to come round and finish the job off.

Puppies enjoy naked romp in off-leash area

The puppies enjoyed their freedom today when Kristy and I took them to the local off leash area. There was much throwing and fetching of balls enjoyed by Zoe. Tom decided that picking fights was more fun, and so tried to take any other male dog that came in. So Kristy and I took turns at restraining him while the other one of us entertained Zoe.

Still, an adventure is an adventure, so the puppies were happy little critters!

City trip leaves puppies distressed and confused

March 11th, 2004

Ben’s trip into the city this evening came as quite a surprise to the canine members of the Thomas/Priebe household. No sooner than Ben was out the door, both puppies were seen and heard at the side gate verbally expressing their concerns.

“Rrrrrrrufff! Grrrrr ruuff ruff!” said Tom. The story expressed by Zoe was similar. “Grrrrrr ruufff ruffff!!”.

The puppies’ great affection for Ben was evidenced by their actions. It seems that the dogs were concerned that there would be no more throwing of the ball, pats, or food for the day. Gerrod successfully alleviated their woes with some quality pitching of the puppies toys, followed by a tasty meal of chicken and pasta sausage.
