Our family and the Doherty family have been friends for pretty much as long as I can remember. When we moved to Brisbane from Ingham, the Doherty family lived at the bottom of our street. Anyway, since the tender age of 5, I have visited the Doherty household on regular occasions, for haircuts, and a general catch-up on the latest news from the troops.
On Saturday night, Kristy and I were lucky enough to be invited to help celebrate Jacob’s 21st. When Jacob and I first met, I was 5 years old, and he was a baby. Even then, I can remember thinking, “man, what an awesome guy”. 21 years have not changed my opinion – Jacob is tops. He and I are blessed (read “cursed”) with nearly identical hair types – which is good for me, because at each hair-cut I just say, “I’ll have the Jacob, thanks Collette”. Judging by the picture, I think it’s definately time I had an update.
Jacob is also the number 1 source for movie reviews. At the party, his Dad (Tom) and his brother (Sam) had taped together his movie stubs from the last 6 months – and they formed a chain which stretched some 15 metres or so.
All the family members made a speech outlining their memories of Jacob’s 21 years. Following this, his 2 younger siblings Kira and Sam sang Green Day’s Time of your life as a tribute to their older brother. It was most impressive.
Anyway Jacob – gerrod.com wishes you all the very best for your 21st.
