Kristy and I joined the “ex-Mincom gang” in celebrating Slick’s 27th birthday. His actual birthday was last Saturday – the 26th of June – but this was the first time that we were available to celebrate. And celebrate we did!
Just a warning though – if you ever get asked to go to The Olive Pitt, politely decline. You can even forgoe the politeness! Credit where credit’s due – the pasta I had was some of the best that I have ever eaten, even though it was a little cool when it was served almost 3 hours after it was ordered. Unfortunately, the pizzas were not so hot, so Kristy and The Wests were underimpressed with their meals. Steve’s pasta was also burnt, which was not so good. But worst of all was the service! Hardly ever were we offered drinks, our table water was never refilled, and at the conclusion of the evening, there was no offer of dessert or coffee!
To make things worse, The Olive Pitt’s slow service caused me to miss the remainder of a LAN that I was supposed to be attending afterwards. My most sincere apologies to Andrew for not being there longer – I’m sure you would have enjoyed a few more frags at my expense. Oh well; there’ll always be a next time…
